Hello sound lovers & soul seekers

How AMAZING does this summery tipi look, bathed in the golden evening light? This is what I want to create for us, and I need YOUR help to make it happen. 

WHAT IS IT?!
I have ordered one of these fantastic handmade tipis from a wonderful supplier right here in Cornwall, and this summer I will be creating a POP-UP SOUND TEMPLE in the wild. I'll be able to record my ongoing online sound sessions there AND I'll be able to restart 1:1 and small group sessions too. As you can see from the picture below, the sides roll up to create an outdoor space, allowing coverage from the elements but also full ventilation which is so important in safely offering group sessions. Sound belongs in nature, and it's long been my dream to create an outdoor arena to hold space and share with you all. 



WHAT'S THE STORY?
I'm setting up a campaign with the wonderful Crowdfunder (who just happen to be based here in Newquay) to make this project happen. As many of you know, I am one of the £3 million self employed people in the UK who has fallen through the cracks of the various government COVID-19 support schemes. Throughout this time I've continued to offer sounds for free to those also struggling, because I knew it was the right thing to do. I just found out this morning that Cornwall Council have also refused me for a discretionary grant (the one supposedly for those who don't fall into any other scheme), on the grounds that I don't have a fixed business property. This is SO disappointing as of course I pay to hire spaces all over Cornwall week in and week out, but this isn't enough for them to support my little business. So whilst I can just about find the funds to get the tipi ordered, I need to raise some more to truly bring it to life and survive/grow through the summer. 



HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Crowdfunding is simple - I just need a crowd, and that, I hope is YOU! In exchange for pledging your support to the project, you can choose a reward. I've created rewards starting from just £5 so there is something for every budget.

Included in the rewards list are access to soundscapes, Rock & Ritual standalone boxes and subscriptions, plus a few exciting new products and extras. SO IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO BUY ANY OF THESE - PLEASE DO SO BY CONTRIBUTING TO MY CROWDFUNDER AND SELECTING THE RELEVANT REWARD! This way you still get the same product/service you were going to purchase anyway, but the campaign benefits too. To get the most out of the campaign it's important to get as many individual people in my crowd as possible. So even £5 makes a huge difference as 100 x £5 will unlock new funding opportunities for growing Silence & Noise, and supporting the all important medically accredited research into sound therapy in the post-lockdown world.

WHERE WILL THE TIPI BE?
I am super lucky to have access to a site at one of the most inspirational and inspiring projects anywhere in the UK - KUDHVA, right here in Cornwall. Its the place where I will be holding my September retreat (fingers crossed) and the stars aligned perfectly to create the opportunity for a pop-up in advance of that. Kudhva offers incredible architectural hideouts so if you want to come visit and explore sound in nature, there's no better place! As I am buying the tipi outright, it will be able to travel to festivals and popups in other places going forward. Maybe next summer there will be a tour!
** I'm not naming Kudhva in the official campaign, so this is just a little heads up between us  for those of you who I know are in Cornwall and would be up for 1:1 or group events, or who are further away but making plans for an escape this summer

Think also about workplaces, community health groups of any other groups/pages you may be involved with who you think could benefit from either the relaxation/meditation or therapeutic/scientific aspects of sound work.
